“Fabulous and Informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

I did the Viking/Medieval walking tour and our guide, Samantha, was just great! She knew all the old history of Dublin and really helped me to visualize what it must have been like. Add to that a great sense of humor, and it made for a very pleasant experience. And thanks to Mr. Liddy, who I saw on Cities of the Underworld on the History Channel, for sparking my interest in this tour. Yay!

“A different view of dublin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2009

I did the dublin experience tour which was free as part of the dublin sightseeing bus tour ticket. Having visited dublin twice before i wasn't sure if i would see anything different so was pleasantly surprised to visit areas i hadn't before. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, especially when it came to the history. I would definatly try one of the other tours the next time i visit dublin.

“A pint of the black stuff!”

As it is the Guinness's 250th anniversary we decided to try the Guinness Pilgrimage. Our guide, Pauline, told us that this is a new addition to the tours this year and our tour was the very first one. The walk took about an hour and a half and Pauline gave us a very interesting potted history of Ireland along the way, pointing out one or two of the more unusual sights that as tourists wandering on our own we would never have spotted. The hightlight of the walk is of course the visit to the brewery and a free pint of the black stuff in the Gravity Bar on the 7th floor. Even is Guinness isn't your usual tipple it is worth going up there just for the view! The tour is very good value indeed as it includes the cost of entry to the brewery (and the free pint of course!) We'll definitely be going on another walking tour on our next visit and hopefully Pauline will be our guide, because as a 4th generation Dubliner she is the ideal person to take you around her city.

“Pat Liddy Walking Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2008

The wife and I cruised recently on the MS Maasdam and made a stop in Dublin for the day. After reading about Pat Liddy tours on line, we decided to give them a try as Dublin was so very crowded with people and vehicles. We figured a walking tour would be easier to get around.

We met our guide at the Tourist Center downtown. She was a delightful young lady who was a student at Trinity College. During the 2.5 hours of hour tour, she proved to be extremely knowledgeable, witty, and answered all of our questions.

During the tour we saw parts of the city that I know we would never have seen walking around on our own. Initially we thought the cost a bit high (12 pounds per person) but at the end of the tour felt it was well worth that and more.

If you want to see the real Dublin and learn the history of the city, we highly recommend any of Pat Liddy's tours.

im from dublin and i went on pat liddys walking tours for the first time ever last week. i went on the viking medieval one.
i would really reccomend it. i couldnt believe the amount of information that the guide knew. and she was so nice and lively.
Dublin is so compact and small. walking tours are definitely the best way to get around the city to learn about it.
i went back during the week to another of pat liddy tours; the historic northside. that brought me to a completely different part of the city and i learned much more.
the only bad thing about the tours is that they are long and you do get a bit tired taking in all of the information!!! they are better than the bus tho because you see things up close, learn more info and dont just speed past the sites.
i felt ashamed about how little i knew about my own city!!!
