“Wonderful, Immaculate, and Friendly B&B While in Dublin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

The staff at Ashling were incredibly patient and kind and assisted us with every detail of what we needed during our stay in Dublin. As an LGBT group with a baby, we were worried about all the possible outcomes of a stay in a B&B. But we had nothing to worry about. The service was fantastic, they were so helpful, there was always some food and drink available which is VERY important to me and to many folks with blood sugar issues and babies! They totally went above and beyond the call of duty to be of assistance. And the place was so clean I almost couldn't believe it! Spotless. And everything smelled wonderful.
The only downsides:
The room I had was right off the street so it was quite noisy with all the traffic going by. But most of the rooms are not located as such.
The breakfast was just a choice of cold cereals, low-fat yogurt, scones, rolls, bread, cheese and sliced ham every day. No cooked meals. Although the scones and rolls were hot. And you could microwave your sandwich.
There was always water, coffee, tea, apple and orange juice available. Along with butter, jelly, sugar etc... and you can use the dining room whenever you want it... any time of day.

“Poor B&B in a convenient location”

It seemed the owners did not live here, we were met by a youngish lad (the son) who was friendly and helpful. An East European (my guess) girl was there in the morning to help with breakfast.
The room was clean but very basic & all white.
The breakfast was continental style - no cooked breakfast.
Easy bus ride into & out of Dublin.
If you are looking for a homely B&B then this is not the place for you.

“Clean, convenient and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

Ashling House is on the main road from Dublin Airport. It is extremely convenient as several buses run past the door to the city. The hotel is exceptionally clean. It is very good value. Our room was large with a bay-window and dining table. Residents can access the downstairs dining room for cups of tea or coffee at any time. Breakfast is basic continental. The host, Padraig, went out of his way to be kind and helpful, when I had to make arrangements for a bereavement back home.

“Absolutely amazing hospitality, Padraig and Bernadette went ten steps further than any other B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

Myself and my two sisters stayed in Ashling in advance of an early morning flight to Rome. We were departing at 5 a.m. and we still had a buffet breakfast facility available to us. Padraig and Bernadette greeted us on arrival with some lovely, warm tea and freshly made scones - a welcome arrival if we ever saw one!
I stayed in the honeymoon suite with a huge bed, beautiful en-suite and a plasma. Only for I was making a flight, I would have loved to extend my stay for a week and I certainly look forward to a stay in their sister premises of Azalea Lodge.
I would absolutely, highly recommend to contact Padraig and Bernadette if staying in Dublin and for people who are coming from or going to the airport or indeed want to be close to the city, you won't get better than this!
A big thumbs up from me and thank you so much Padraig and Bernadette for getting a great holiday off to a fantastic start!!
