“Definitely coming back to Azalea Lodge!”

I travel to Dublin every few years with my mum who is a Dubliner so that she can touch base and get back to her roots. All the family are now in the UK so in the past we have stayed in city centre hotels and had a reasonable but pricey experience. However now we will never stay anywhere except Azalea Lodge! Bernadette was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and her warm nature is reflected in the large , calm property that she owns with her husband.

The property is on the direct bus route from the airport and in to town and it couldn't have been easier to get around with our 3 day rambler bus pass! Though on a busy-ish road, the house is calm and quiet, light and airy. The high ceilinged bedrooms and bathrooms are neat and tidy with white cotton bedsheets and white fluffy towels and everything is SPOTLESS.

Breakfast was a relaxed affair in the charming dining room come lounge. The fruit salad was to die for and the bread selection a bit of a treat with Irish creamery butter! Add in a full Irish breakfast or cereal and yougurt and you are well set up for a day of sightseeing. Bernadette made a real effort to remember our names and details of what we had done the previous day which made us feel more than a nameless guest.

We always have great fun in Dublin and Azalea Lodge was the icing on the cake.

“We loved it at Azalea Lodge.”

Bernadette and Padraig treat you like friends who have come to visit. Their home is beautiful. I loved having breakfast in the sunny front room. Breakfast was perfect. My daughter and I both declared Bernadette the winner of our informal scone judging! Wonderful price for so close and easy to the city. We were given bus information that worked perfectly. Very easy in and out of Dublin. We will be back if we're that way again!

Azalea Lodge is just north of Dublin's city center. It's close enough to walk or catch a bus or taxi, yet far enough away that you can have a quiet rest too. Bernadette and Padraig are gracious hosts and made sure we were well taken care of. The breakfast is good and made to order. The rooms were spotless. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Dublin.

“Lovely place to stay - highly recommended.”

Azalea Lodge is located on a street with a lot of other B&B's. City busses stop nearby and there are a few restaurants within easy walking distance. Hosts are very helpful and breakfast can be anything from fresh fruit and yogurt to a full Irish breakfast. Taxi fare from airport to Azalea Lodge is very reasonable and is a better bet than trying to manage luggage on busses, which are also available. Free wireless is available for guests so communicate with folks at home via e-mail because a phone is not always available.

“Set the standard for the Irish B & B experience”

Stayed on May 7th and 8th.

Azalea Lodge was our very first bed and breakfast experience in Ireland and it set a high standard for the remainder of our trip. We booked this b & b based on the high reviews on TripAdvisor, and we weren't disappointed. Bernadette and Padraig were very personable and helped with the questions we had on Dublin sightseeing, including how to get to the city centre and also the airport. Our room was spotless and the breakfast was spectacular - especially the bread basket and the fruit bowl! The location *might* be a drawback for some people as it is located away from the city centre - about 15 minutes bus ride - but we actually found it to be an advantage. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood away from the busy side of Dublin, but there is a convenience store (SPAR) right across the street. It is also close to Dublin Airport and the ferry port. We would definitely stay at Azalea Lodge again.
