We arrived at the Fountain Court Apartments Morrison in Edinburgh tired from a very long day of travelling.
Our train arrived very late in the evening so since there was no staff on site (which I knew in advance) we contacted the building's after-hours number to get instructions to how to get our keys.
The steps we needed to follow to get the keys were quite a task (which made me feel very comfortable about the security of the building) but did not involve us having to go anywhere but to our building to retrieve them.
When we got to the room we were very VERY happy. It was no ordinary 'hotel room' and nothing like what we had stayed in over the past few nights. It had all of the comforts of home and was very welcoming. Every little thing had been thought of... even down to dish soap, lightbulbs, flashlights, drying rack.
I had a little trouble figuring out the washing machine, but they have an on-call person that you can call to ask questions 24/7 about anything at all.
We loved the short walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, and found it wasn't too far to pick up some groceries or head to a local restaurant or pub.
All in all, it was a fantastic and comfortable place to stay.
Never a fun thing to take luggage up the stairs, but it wasn't terribly grueling.
