A friend and I stayed at the Greenbrae Farmhouse for one night during our travels around Scotland. It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The owners, Mike and Jill, were very friendly and helpful and provided a great room, bath and tasty breakfast. The room was ground floor (yipee!) and had everything you need including a comfortable bed and big bathroom. Breakfast was great and even included a personalized menu with historical facts!

The house is in the country with fantastic views of the rape fields, but still close to town. An added plus was the convenient parking right next to the house.

Found Greenbrae through the Visit Scotland.com website, never used before but if it turns up gems like this then will definitely use again.
A very warm welcome from a couple who care about their guests and the environment.
A comfortable room with lots of little hidden extras, the fruit tea was just what I needed at the end of a long day.
An excellent study with a wide range of wildlife/bird books and a parrot to talk to, even if she doesn't like men !!
And so to breakfast, personalised menus, home cooking, very tasty and all locally sourced/made.

Next time I'm back in this area I'll be staying here again. Don't miss it folks.

Off the beaten path but surprisingly centrally located
