Having booked this hotel only a couple of weeks ago for a birthday treat without reading the Trip Advisor reviews, I was a little concerned because of a lots of negative comments and began to think I had made a mistake, but unfortunately had paid in full so could not cancel! I must say upon approaching the reception desk which was a little shabby, I was still concerned. Our fears were alleviated when walking to the room as the rest of the hotel was both clean and presentable We had booked a Deluxe room and had asked for this to be changed to smoking only upon our arrival and the receptionist immediately asked for the Welcome Pack to be moved to our new room and this had been done before we had reached our room. . The room was to the usual Hilton standard, clean and spacious. We found the staff to be most pleasant and helpful and I must say the lounge and dining room were to a great standard. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and the choice was great and cooked superbly. If I had to criticise this hotel, my only gripes would be the parking fee (£3 - I feel this should be free to paying guests) and the poor water pressure in the showers!!
