I am writing to say how disappointed I was with my stay. I had booked a double room, but was told on arrival that all doubles had been taken and given a twin. I was "upgraded" to a room with air con and a "better view". I booked and ask for a double expecting a double. The room I was given appeared uncared for, dust around the edge of the carpets, bathroom of poor quality, and can only breathe relief I had not paid full price for it. The reputation of the Hilton was not in appearance at this hotel, save in the price of drinks and food - astronomical. I had planned on taking a long swim on arrival as my journey would be a long one... only to discover the "swimming pool" was more like a plunge pool and in no way could an adult do lengths in it. I would rather have stayed at the Express Inn opposite and will no longer expect to see and enjoy the high standards that I used to associate with the Hilton name, should I stay with Hilton in the future.

We spent a weekend here as downfor a wedding.Stayed 2 nights in a club room so that`s what my comments will be based on.
The hotel room was excellent in every way.Clean ,large and comfortable.Food ( breakfast ) was usual Hilton standard.Very good and plentiful.It is set in a nice location but is about a couple of miles from the centre.
Hotel has pool and excesise facilities as usual and seemed fine.
No bad comments to make other than bar prices are steep and this £3 a day to park your car is to me a stick on that is a total unecessary other to get more cash out of your pocket.Not on for me,otherwise go and you shouldn`t be disapointed.

Had a very upsetting experience when checking out as was charged for two roomss which I can ill afford! When I initally made my reservation I asked for a family room for myself and my husband and our three children. I was told by the reservations team that they they couldn't fit me into a standard family room so we would have to go into a double family deluxe, however she failed to mention that we would be charged for two rooms. When we arrived on the saturday we were told that we didn't have inter-connecting rooms but that we had rooms next to each other which wouldn't be a problem! As I am not normally a complainer I didn't bother to say anything and it being a bank holiday weekend the hotel was very busy. It did prove to be a bit of a problem however as it was my daughters birthday and my wedding anniversary and we wanted to have a nice family weekend away together and we ended up being split into two rooms. On checking out I was told the bill would be £522 when i was only expecting to pay £258 - and we had cashed in most of our tesco's vouchers to cover the cost because obviously have three young children and one wage coming in we cann't afford to have weekends in hotels!! I told them that at no stage was I ever made aware that we would be paying for two rooms and they said they would have to deal with it the next day because it was a bank holiday. I was contacted the following day and told that basically it was tough and they were taking the money out of my credit card! They said that they contacted central reservations and they had said that they told me we would have to have two rooms which they did but they never told me that we would have to pay for the two - to me a family room is when you are altogether!! It was a very upsetting experiene. I have contacted the complaints department and are waiting for a response!! I know that I don't put any business their way but I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone in the future!! Laura Wyatt - Bristol.

The Clubroom allocated was nicely furnished and of good size but the location of the room was a nightmare. It was situated right next to the corridor door which banged everytime someone went through it. We did not have a good nights sleep on the three night stay due to children running about in the room above and a baby who was still on night feeds next door. There is not enough adequate sound proofing. The restaurant service was excellent but the sea bass ordered was a little pricey at £15 considering the small portion. This is not to the usual standard of Hilton Hotels and it has the feel of a Travel Lodge or Priemier Inn. To be honest staying at one of these would had been more preferable and we will definetly not stay at this hotel again.
