I am writing to say how disappointed I was with my stay. I had booked a double room, but was told on arrival that all doubles had been taken and given a twin. I was "upgraded" to a room with air con and a "better view". I booked and ask for a double expecting a double. The room I was given appeared uncared for, dust around the edge of the carpets, bathroom of poor quality, and can only breathe relief I had not paid full price for it. The reputation of the Hilton was not in appearance at this hotel, save in the price of drinks and food - astronomical. I had planned on taking a long swim on arrival as my journey would be a long one... only to discover the "swimming pool" was more like a plunge pool and in no way could an adult do lengths in it. I would rather have stayed at the Express Inn opposite and will no longer expect to see and enjoy the high standards that I used to associate with the Hilton name, should I stay with Hilton in the future.
