I travelled to Aldeburgh for a family visit on Easter Sunday and had reserved a table for the evening. The Wentworth is a traditional hotel that has been in the same family for decades - but they obviously take pride in keeping up to date with good presentation, decor and menus. Not over fussy but good comfortable, traditional yet stylish dining rooms and lounge.
The menu had plenty of choices - seafood, of course, as it's within sight of the waterfront. But also duck, chicken, vegetarian options and steaks - my steak medallions were perfectly cooked and tender. All 5 of us agreed that the food was delicious, served hot and very good value all round. Highly recommended.
We visited Aldeburgh to see the town where Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears had lived and where Britten's 'Peter Grimes' is set and enjoyed it very much.
