I have recently stayed there for 1night. I paid GBP49 for a single room so I wasn't expecting the moon. Yes, the place is dated, needs painting, room is old fashioned, small and furniture needs replacing but mine was cleaned. Shower was cleaned and working well with good water pressure, toilet cleaned, bed sheet cleaned, mattress comfy enough. The room had an hair dryer which I didn't expect! Area is secured with Tony's Blair residence almost opposite with guards outside all night. Breakfast was small and not fancy but if you ask you get more and the lady was very polite. The receptionist was friendly and helpful with coverage all night so I didn't need to take the chunky key with me.
This is all I needed for 1 night. If the place was all perfect you'll pay 4/5 times more considering the location! I needed something cheap as I was paying :) and had a late night out planned in Central London and needed few hours sleep before an early meeting close to the area. I travel the world a lot for work mainly and tend to be the fussy type but, sometimes, for what you pay, you have to be fair. You can't expect a 5 star hotel facilities at this price in Central London. At least what I needed was fine and I had a good welcome! Yes, the owners should put much more attention to the place, this is a golden plot! Personally, I 'll go back for a night stay in the future. I wasn't there to admire the room and the hotel facilities.
