Where do you start! First impression from the outside looks ok. Entered reception although the room was paid for in full they insisted they did a pre orth on a card although we said we would pay cash as we went. Found our room in the rabbit warren of stairs and corridors. Very small, family room when we booked a double not really enough room for one bed let alone two, room suffocatingly stuffy, couldn't open windows put ceiling fan on so loud couldn't hear yourself talk let alone sleep. The bathroom was like a pod, so small you could be in the shower while sitting on the toilet.
Breakfast was a waste of time no choice and very poor quality, my wife is lactose intolerant, which when we phoned in advance seemed to fall on deaf ears asked the waitress if there was an alternative to butter a spread or margarine the reply was " me no know" so with no toast, coffee really wasn't nice we did complain to reception we were told there was nothing they could do as it was complimentary to be honest we couldn't find anything to compliment on. We will not be staying here again it really put a sour taste to my wifes birthday treat, luckily the phantom was awesome!
