We had booked the Northbound Hotel but in true Travelodge style advised us ion arrival that they had overbooked so we had to stay in the Hotel on the other side of the road. After a long journey, this was not what we wanted to hear! We usually stay in Premier Inn but could not get a booking that night and we really noticed the terrible difference in standards. The place was dismal and drab and look ed neglected. It smelt damp and were greeted by a receptionist who looked like she had stepped out of a horror movie. She was rather useless and had very greasey hair. My husband really noticed that she also had terrible B.O. which was not really too nice from the representative of a Hotel chain. We were given a key to outr room..which had lost its key fob and has a room number sellotaped with a scrap of paper on it...which said it all really!
We arrived in the room to discover that the TV did not work so we were shown to another room...which was not usually used as it had NO key to it! We were told that there were no spare pillows either as there was just 1 sad looking pillow!
Anyway, we did manage to sleep that night and it was a quiet Hotel!
I will never stay in another Travelodge again ever!! Avoid!!
