Having read some of the''terrible'' reviews on here I felt I had to have my say. I was part of a coach tour from the West Midlands and have to say this was very good value for money. We could not fault the rooms, or the food, that was excellent, as was the service. The only slight problem was the early morning noise from the Thistle Hotel next door having their bins emptied. Glass Bottles???? What a racket!. Sounded like there was no glass in the window!. I accept that as an individual guest it would be a bit hard on the pocket as its not cheap. I think it was a lovely place to stay, clean and comfortable though could do with a lick of paint to make it a bit smarter.

Sprawling hotel, very old and full of character right on the sea front. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean and had everything you could want, had good decor and was well maintained. Bathroom looked a little worn but was very clean. Sleep quality was good, comfy bed and curtains kept out the light well. Breakfast was good with vast choice of English, cereals, meat/cheese, pastries, fruit - serve yourself with waiter service for hot drinks. Would stay here again - got a great deal of £69 per room including breakfast - on booking.com. Our two gripes were the amount charged for parking in the hotel's own car park £20 per day and £7 for wi-fi - in a four star hotel I think this is plain greedy.

i absolutely loved this hotel, its clean, comfortable, friendly staff, affordable and just the best! i visit Bighton every year and i have stayed in loads of brightons hotels..but this by far is the best! i would defonatly recomend to a friend!

We booked a large family room. What struck us was how dirty the windows were, how basic the facilities - no fridge,in a room costing £300+ a night, no tea or coffee making facilities, uncomfortable pillows, lack of toilet roll, wicker furniture and units and TV from the early 1990's.

It was extremely difficult to navigate around the hotel. When we asked the front door staff they sent us in completely the wrong direction. The lifts feel like they might snap at any point. If you have a room at the back all you see is pipework covered in pigeon faeces.

The bar is overpiced, seriously overpriced. £11 for two single G&T's. Our breakfast consited two cheap tasting sausages, one piece of fatty bacon and half a slice of fried bread (cold and very greasy). There was no toast and butter. Overall it felt like a bad travelodge.
