Out of the hotels in Scarborough, I believe the Delta Toronto East to be the best of them save some minor issues. Bottom line: Clean, friendly service, good for short stays and families with young children. Not so great for any type of "getaway".
The Good:
The location in Scarborough is handy being right next to the major 401 highway. There is a large outdoor shopping and restaurant complex a short walk away.
The rooms are comfortable enough. I did not use many amenities as I stayed only one night, however, I had a sound sleep and the bed was clean.
The pool is nice, however, it was crowded with many children yelling and screaming and jumping around. On a quieter weekday I think it would be great. Also there is a fair sized squash court available to use!
Albeit a bit pricey, I like how there are seemingly 3 levels of restaurants: bar/pub, lounge/buffet, and fine dining (Japanese cuisine).
The Bad:
Immediately upon entering the lobby there is a distinct smell of chlorine in the air. It is not a welcoming smell especially as it gets stronger en route to the tower room elevators.
The hotel is absolutely freezing. The room was better, but the lobby and hallways are positively toe-numbing. I really hate being cold so this was not pleasant!
The Ugly:
Parking charge is very unnecessary and the amount of parking space available needs to be upgraded!
