“Excellent accommodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

We stayed at the Valley View during our visit in Creston. After reading the reviews before we left for our holiday we thought we would try it out. We were very surprised as it was quaint and rustic but the room what was beautiful and really well equipped. It had a refrigerator/stove, coffee maker, microwave, convection toaster all of the dishes and utensils and everything else that you would need. The room had been tastefully redecorated and was very much to our liking. We had a combination livingroom (with futon) and kitchen, private bedroom and washroom. It was very quiet and located at the side of a hill within walking distance of the city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Creston. The price was very reasonable.

“A wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

The hotel is really a group of sweet little cabins on a shaded hillside. Rustic, yes, but it felt homey and comfortable. Cute porch out front. Inside, it's a cozy suite...living room, kitchenette (with stove, fridge microwave, dishes, the works), and a separate bedroom and bath. With all the extras you need -- free wireless and great satellite tv. They had a grill you could use and picnic tables, plus a playground. Not luxurious, but truly welcoming and well appointed. Several other cabins were filled with family members at a reunion -- grandparents, parents and kids. Nothing fancy...just good and homey. The owner who checked us in was also helpful in recommending nearby restaurants.

“Quaint and clean.”

Our stay at Valley View was quite enjoyable. It is clean and the owners were very friendly. It seems they are still in the process of updating, but overall it is quaint. The view is spectacular! After a horrendous stay at the Moon River Lodge in Yakh, this was a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend it to all.

“Great value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2009

I agree with the previous reviews - the cabins are quiet, the setting is lovely, the little touches like the playing cards in the room were nice. And mainly, the value! This was the only place we stayed out of 3 on a trip to the Kootenays that provided good value for money. For $75 per night we got a large room with two beds, a table and chairs, good wi-fi, and a microwave/fridge. And there are barbecues and picnic tables for guests to use. It's a bit quirky, apparently they're slowly renovating the cabins and I don't think they'd gotten to ours yet, it still had some pretty old fixtures, but everything worked and it was clean and spacious.

Only 2 complaints - this was the 2nd place we stayed with no clock radio. There must be an alarm clock theft problem in this part of BC. Also, the lock on the door could've been a bit more robust and the chain was broken, though I can't imagine B&E's are a big problem in Creston. But those are pretty small things for an otherwise great place.
