Having had several enjoyable cottage holidays in the UK,our experience of Ireland was limited to a couple of trips to Dublin, both very enjoyable,so we decided to book a week in June at Darragh cottages,Co Limerick. What a big mistake!!!The 'cottage' was miles from anywhere, stunk of damp,we were promised satellite tv,but only two Irish channels available, the owner had'nt even left us so much as a teabag to welcome us after our journey, had to pay for all electricity, with a seperate charge by coin slot for the tumble dryer which did'nt work and kept our money!!To cap it all,the windows would'nt open and the promised 'nearby pub' was half a mile up an unlit road and was never open.Could'nt even drown our sorrows! After putting up with it for five very boring nights,we cut our losses and spent the last two nights at a luxury hotel in Cork.
