Everything Intrawest about this place is excellent. All their rooms are on the 28th to 30th floors, so the views are exceptional. The suites are extremely spacious and well appointed. The lady that works for Intrawest and sits in the lounge is very warm. Unfortunately, to check into the hotel you have to deal with Sheraton people, which was disastrous. We tried to check in at 3, but were told that check in time is at 4 (Intrawest is pretty stingy on maid service — I hadn't dealt with a check in time of 4 / check out at 11 in years, and suites are only cleaned twice weekly). That was fine, but when we asked to leave our bags for storage, we waited over 15 minutes, with no sign of a bellman. The hotel was overflowing with conference goers and airline staff, and front desk was extremely overwhelmed. I couldn't get up to the a Intrawest floors because you need an elevator access card, so I called up, looking to be rescued from this mess. The Intrawest lady said that all her rooms were ready and she had told the front desk, but they hadn't communicated the message to their team! Armed with this prized information, I returned to the check in desk, but had to wait another 10 minutes because the line had grown so long. This is just such an unnecessarily unpleasant first impression; intrawest needs to figure out a way to get its members right upstairs for the service they deserve. Excellent location by the way, right between downtown and trendy Yaletown.
