We chose to go to the Wedgewood, mainly because we wanted to experience those balconies overlooking Robson Square. But the entire experience was great.
We loved the boutique hotel feel, it's very cosy, the staff is very attentive and the room itself is very comfortable.
The check in went very smoothly, the staff from the valet to the receptionist was very friendly though formally courteous which I appreciate.
The room is large and not too noisy though right on Hornby street. It was a beautiful day so we definitely spent some good time on that balcony, doing people watching and enjoying the view over the city centre. The bathroom is a little on the small side compared to most hotels I've been to in North America, but it definitely offered all the needed amenities. The huge bathtub is great, but I would have liked some jets :) Turn down service is always pleasant, especially when they leave those delicious cookies! I usually love room service breakfast, but I found this one a little on the pricey side, even compared to Four Seasons or The Fairmont.
This is definitely THE hotel I would recommend visitors to stay at, it's very central and the service is very warm though very professional; the warmth of the staff seemed more genuine than at any larger chains (I'm thinking Fairmont, Four Seasons, Westin).
