“Irish hospitality at its finest :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2010

My parents and I stayed here for three nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! The rooms were very clean, and we all stayed plenty warm even in the cold Irish March. The Breakfast was excellent, and Chris is a great host! We enjoyed the quiet village of Kinnitty and were able to take some lovely hikes in the area. This was by far our favorite place that we stayed in during our trip in Ireland, and we definitely plan to return next year! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

“2 days to always remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

It has been less than 1 month since my husband & I had the honor of staying at The Ardmore House. The house was lovely, the rooms are beautiful & very clean and comfortable. The location was wonderful...County Offlay is what I picture when I think of Ireland. But the best part of Ardmore was the owner..Christina. Not only is she warm, friendly, knowledgeable, talented in cooking, running a business & playing a fiddle, she goes more than the extra mile for her guests. She will make you feel welcome & comfortable in her home and never gets fustrated being bombarded with questions.
My husband & I stayed in Ireland for 9 days. 2 of them was at Dromoland castle which was great, but the best time we had in all the days in Ireland, was at the Ardmore House. She has great advice for horse riding, and sight seeing. Don't waste your time at fancy castles, stay at Ardmore House & feel like you belong. I will never have a greater birthday than I did at Ardmore House, priceless. Can't wait to go back.

“A beautiful, well maintained Victorian house, set in its own grounds in the very picturesque village of Kinnitty.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2009

We have enjoyed two holidays at Ardmore House this year, in June and October. The house is set in a beautiful location at the foot of the Slieve Bloom mountains. Our room was spacious and comfortable and Christine, our Hostess, made us very welcome, treating us to homemade bread, scones and preserves with our cooked breakfasts.

Christine is a hive of information on the local scene and during this latest holiday we enjoyed traditional musical evenings and a Story Telling Festval. There is plenty to see and do from this location in the centre of Ireland. We still have much to explore.

“Walkers paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2009

As coordinator of a Belgian based walking group I was fortunate to make contact with Christina Byrne of Ardmore House who found accommodation for our 40+ participants in the village of Kinnitty. She also organised a local walk guide, John Scully, who shared with us his intimate knowledge Slieve Bloom mountains, its local history, flora and fauna. Those of us staying in Ardmore House were treated to the very best of traditional Irish hospitality -a great welcome, fantastic food including Christinas home baking, spacious comfortable rooms - and all this in the surroundings of a tastefully renovated Georgian building set in mature gardens with ample parking facilities.

“A truly enjoyable experience in Ardmore House.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2009

We stayed two nights with Christina in Ardmore House. It was a truly enjoyable experience as we were greeted with tea and fresh homemade scones on arrival. We were then shown to our room, which had a beautiful canopy bed and had the most wonderful views of the Slieve Bloom mountains. On our first evening, we enjoyed a scenic walk and relaxed by the open turf fire. On our second day we took a drive over the Slieve Bloom mountains which were spectacular. Later that evening we went for food in Birr and then headed back to the local pub in kinnitty, where there was a great irish music session taking place and we were pleasantly surprised to hear Christina play the fiddle as part of the group. Each morning we had a most wholesome full irish breakfast, with homemade brown bread. We had a fantastic break and will most definately return.
