We have just returned from 2 weeks at Beaches in the T&C and I have to say I would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend this resort. We stayed in the Parrot Quay suites in the Carribean village, which was excellent for the 4 of us, myself, my husband and 2 children aged 9 & 13. It had all we needed, was cleaned everyday, and above all was centrally located, nothing was too far.

The food was fantastic - we ate at all the restaurants except the sushi bar, and we did find if we we were prepared to wait until 8.30pm for a table we were seated within minutes, which was perfect for us, as we hated the idea of having to eat at 6pm. Mario's was a great all rounder, particulary good at breakfast, Arizona's was great for lunch, but in the evening Schooners, le petit chateau and barefoot by the sea won out. Turtles bar provided a good outlet for a few cocktails after dinner.

The facilites again were excellent, the children loved the waterpark, we learnt to scuba Dive and our instructor 'Micheal Phelps' was great in that he was friendly, patient and professional.

The staff were friendly and courteous at all times, as were the locals in T&C when we ventured out for the day.

Without doubt a place I would consider returning to

Room tip: Parrot quay 1 bed homeymoon suites are perfect for a family, they are not as costly as some of the other rooms that have a seperate bedroom. The location of them is very central. Practically on the beach, a stones throw from the italian village, and a 3 min walk to the waterpark

We arrived in Turks and Caicos from the Bahamas on the 2/8/12 aside from the Beaches represnetative having no clue that we were on the flight despite our online check in and then after we got to the resort our room was not ready again we had informed them months in advance that we would be arriving early and with a 1 year old

After some scrmabling around they got us into a nice room which was on the Caribbean Side the room was not high end in fact it was one of their lower tier rooms but it was clean spacious and nice enough for a vacation where you spend most of your time outside the room all in all it wa svery comfortable

the food at the resport was good but if you are looking for gourmet food this is not your resort it was mainly burgers fries grilled meats and salads and everything was buffet which wasnt bad

Beaches is the perfect place to carry little kids who love Sesame Street and the water I quite enjoyed it and so did my family....

Room tip: If you can get a room in teh newer area like teh French or Italliam Village opt for that because while teh Caribbean Village isnt bad it is older and you hav eto pass the water treatment plant to get to your room but its not loud or anything just an eye sore

Background:
Our family (twin 8 year old boys) have been to all-inclusives in Punta Cana (3), Bahamas (1), Mexico (1) and Jamaica (1). We are just back from an 8 day visit to Beaches, T&C.

Quick Summary:
Food
Wife: Typical of most all-inclusives. Buffets could have wider selection of fruit.
Husband: Buffets were great. Wife must still be remembering trips with wealthier ex-husband
Staff:
Wife: Lovely. Lifeguard reserved chairs/canopy for us every morning.
Husband: Very friendly and accommodating
Rooms:
Wife: French Village rooms were above average for all-inclusive. Maid service was a bit sluggish and wife complained a couple of times (room service was coming very late in day)
Husband: Happy that wife generally not yelling at him to clean up the mess like at home.

Activities:
WaterPark -fabulous for the kids
WaterSports - very accessible and no reservations required

Well I could go on and on but here is the bottom line on this place and why we both agree that it deserves 5-stars. We have been to other upscale all-inclusives (with VIP Service) and Beaches blows away the competition. This place was really total relaxation and hassle free. Here are some examples:
1. No annoying towel cards to keep track off.
2 No reservations are required at the restaurants (and no problem getting into them)
3. For 8-year old twins it was small enough for us to feel comfortable giving them some freedom, yet large enough that they could go to the water slides, surfing machine, x-box garage (where they would have stayed for 8-days if we hadn't dragged them out), snack bar (hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, fries.....).
4. Watersports - hobies, windsurfers, snorkels, kayaks all very accessible
5. Very organized check-in process and check-out/transportation procedure.

In comparison to other resorts the shows and entertainment where a bit amateurish. But in fairness a lot of them were geared to very young children who do enjoy Elmo and his posse.

A bit more on the rooms. The three villages (Carribean, French, Italian) are all very close together and all facilities are shared by all guests. We stayed in the French village. The French Village pool was relatively quiet and well suited for our 8-year olds. The Italian Village pool was much louder and seemed to be more of a hangout for older teenagers.

We took a look at the Italian Village rooms and they were definitely nicer. In husband's opinion they were 10% nicer (i.e. might be willing to pay 10% more). Wife may have other ideas on this subject when we plan the next vacation.

Others have written more detailed reviews that I agree with (see Lisa58). Beaches is definitely more costly than other all-inclusives we have visited. But for us overall we really appreciated the very well run hassle free atmosphere of this place- and in our opinion that alone is worth the premium price.

My family and I traveled to Beaches a month ago for our annual family vacation. We stayed in the French Village. Overall we liked Beaches very much but there are a few things that could be improved to make a very good vacation a great one. The check-in process was long, over thirty minutes, although we were told our room was ready when we arrived. A famly member who was staying in a separate room had to wait over ninety minutes for her room. Unacceptable. This was made worse by the fact that she was supposed to be in an adjoining or nearby room to ours but was put in one twenty doors away. We complained but her room was never changed and management didn't seem too concerned about it. The check-out process was cumbersome and not well thought out.
The food in most restaurants was average. The worst restaurant was Mario's. Avoid it at all costs. The food was inedible. Arizona's was a great spot for lunch and had enough variety to please even my very picky daughter. However, we went there one night for dinner and the food was just okay. At dinner you order from the menu, lunch was buffet-style with an outdoor grill. Barefoot by the Sea and Schooner's both have a great atmosphere. The food was better at Barefoot. Schooner's was disappointing. I ordered the chef's special - risotto - and it was rather bland. The sushi restaurant was amazing! The place is very small, although they are in the process of expanding it, so get there by 6:00 to ensure you get a table. The hibachi restaurant was great for table-side entertainment but again the food was a little disappointing. Cricketer's was a great option for lunch. Guiseppe's was close to our room and was our spot for breakfast everyday. With a wide variety of food at the buffet, a smoothie bar and made-to-order omelettes there were no complaints about the quantity or quality of food.
My husband and I agree with other reviewers who commented that the liquor was anything but premium. They use bar brands, some seemed to be watered down.
Now to the good stuff. The beach was amazing with plenty of water sports if you choose. The staff was very friendly. The Lazy River and water slides were lots of fun and the wave-simulator pool was a big hit. There was live enterntainment every night in the form of a stage 'show' and singers and/or musicians near the pool or bar.
We were there for the 4th of July. We enjoyed a brief fireworks show on the beach and there was plenty of food, drinks and dessert at the picnic prior to the fireworks.
Although we will not return immediately to Beaches we would consider another visit in a few years. Next time, we would opt to stay in the Italian Village, not the French.
My children had a wonderful time and did not want to leave. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves, probably even more so because our kids loved Beaches. Our complaint is that the price for the resort seems a little high given the quality of food and liquor. If Beaches improved on both of these this would be a resort we would return to next year.

Thank you so much for your awesome review. It's good to hear about how much you enjoyed our beautiful beach and even about your concerns with a few areas. We appreciate your honesty. I'm happy to hear that despite the rough start you were still able to have a wonderful stay.

We look forward to your return.

I am not the type of person to write any type of review, good or bad, but I was just blown away on my recent trip to Turks and Caicos.

Let me start off by saying that both inside and outside of the resort (as we did travel outside of the resort several times), the locals on Turks and Caicos are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I cannot say enough about how amazing the people were. that is what really made this trip exceptional.

Beaches- Just an absolutely beautiful resort! This was my first all inclusive experience, but from what I have heard talking to other people and researching other resorts, this one is by far the best. 16 amazing restaurants to choose from, you can take to the ocean with your choice of Catamarans, Water Trikes, kayaks, and paddle boards. You can get Snorkel gear and go on up to 4 different Snorkel expeditions a day, or you could just snorkel off the beach(perfect for you shell hunters out there), and just a little walk down the beach there is a fire corral preserve that you can snorkel around and see sea turtles, sting rays, and a ton of different kinds of fish(I highly recommend that). They also have a waterpark with 7 different slides and a lazy river.

It's easy to look on their website and everything they have to offer, but it does not show you the whole picture. each day the post an event calendar on the event boards located around the resort, there is so much more stuff to do every single day that is not on their website. During our time there, they had a waterpolo tournament, beach and water volleyball tournaments, Shell hunts on the beach, Poker tournaments, and much much more.

My sister also had her wedding while we were down there. The wedding planner plus the resort staff did a fantastic job and she had a beautiful wedding right on the beach.

Here are my recommendations if you are making the trip:
1. SUNSCREEN, I burn very easily and I was wearing SPF 75 most of the time and I was still getting burned, a bad sunburn can ruin your entire day or two
2. If you can afford it, I highly recommend going with the concierge service. They were all incredibly helpful with anything that we needed, and it made our time there a lot better.
3. Stay in the Caribbean Village, This is the older of the 3 villages and the rooms are a little bit smaller(we were barley in our rooms as it was) but it is the only village right on the beach and has two pools.
4. When you go to Schooners, if they have it, you need to order King Crab and Conch Risotto, by far the best meal I had when I was down there.
5. All of the restaurants are great, but the best overall for breakfast was Giuseppe's, best for lunch is Mario's buffet on the weekends( they only offer the buffet on the weekends but if you go there be ready to have a major food coma afterwords)
6. Dirty Banana or Miami Vice- Ask a bartender, they will know
7. I began this review with the people and I am ending it with the people, go and visit my friends Benj, JB, and Joel at the Arizona swim up bar, these guys love their jobs and we had a lot of fun with them in the week that we were there.

Overall if you are looking for a great place to go, I put this one at the top of my list, and I will be returning very soon.
