We had a very pleasant stay at the Mermaid Beach, now the Breakers, however the rooms were old and worn out. Light fixtures were missing in the kitchen area and the AC leaked on the floor. With some tender loving care the Breakers would be a nice inexpensive getaway hotel and priced right. The hotel was called the Mermaid Beach years ago and now part of the facility has been converted to condos which seemed very nice. The little resturant and bar have since been closed so bring you own food and drink. They do have rooms with small kitchens

The Breakers has a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean and is located in a area that is very accessable to bus transportion.

If you are looking for a five star hotel this is not it. If you are looking for inexpensive this is the place.
