Spent three nights in the lovely town of Bruff last week. The Old Bank Bed & Breakfast comes highly recommended in the area and having looked at the website we were looking forward to visiting. It certainly didnt disappoint. The building itself is beautiful and has been lovingly restored and converted from its original use as a bank. The character of the building is still very much alive with the high ceilings and the ornate tiles in the hallway. We were warmly greeted by Miriam who showed us to our room which was clean, bright and tastefully decorated. The beds were very firm and as I had injured my back before I arrived I was delighted to discover they were of such a good standard. We slept very well and very peacefully during our stay. Even though Miriam is a mother of three young (and gorgeous!) children she still had the time to take to chat with us each morning and gave us information on the area, where to eat, what to see etc. Breakfasts were prepared to order and I can recommend the pancakes as a good start to the day! The fire was lighting in the little snug off the dining room each evening when we came in and we availed of the chance to sit and do some reading. Internet access was freely available on a dedicated computer upstairs should you feel the need to do some real work during your stay! Overall we felt that it was really good value for money and a most pleasant stay.
