“In a nut-shell, Moher Lodge is the best B&B we have ever stayed in!”

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel truly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for our very friendly hosts. Mary greeted us with a tea-tray laden with home-made 'Guiness cake', biscuits and fresh coffee- a real treat following our early morning start.
Our room was very tastefully decorated, bright and airy, with beautiful views over the bay at Lahinch in one direction, and over the rolling green hills in the other. We really appreciated the extra little touches, like the chocolates and the tea-tray in our room, and the fresh flowers on the breakfast table.
Breakfast was delicious! Here again there were extra homely touches like home-made scones and soda bread.
Mary was a 'fount of knowledge' regarding places to visit and sights to see. Both Mary and Patsy went out of their way to be sociable and helpful.
Moher Lodge is ideally situated for visiting the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and the Aran islands (from Doolin).
Having stayed in many B&Bs, Moher Lodge is by far the best one we have visited. We would have no hesitation in whole-heartedly recommending it.

“Location, Location, Location”

The B&B was great, but what it really came down to was location. When my friend and I were planning this trip, we were doing so on a budge and most of our B&B's were out of the way. Not this one. Moher Lodge is the last place to stay before the legendary Cliffs of Moher. In fact, we actually walked to the cliffs!!! (Which is a feat in itself, not having to navigate that parking lot). We did it just after supper and stayed to watch the sunset over the cliffs. AMAZING!!! If you are driving, make sure to fill up before getting there as the nearby towns do not have a gas station. Now, about Moher Lodge: the owners were fabulous and sweet and made us feel like their grandaughters. Cleo, their dog, was beautiful and well behaved. The rooms were a little on the smallish side, but cozy. All in all, it was a remarkable value. Just a note: tours don't go to the cliffs for sunset, but it's an experience not to be missed. Rent a car if you have to.

“Highly recommended!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2008

My mother and I stayed for 2 nights at the Moher Lodge. Very friendly proprietors, lovely clean rooms and located close to the Cliffs of Moher. Very helpful in giving info about the local scenery and Ireland in general. After we left, my mother found out she had left her coat in the closet of our room. Unfortunately, we didn't find out about this until we had reached Cork. We called the Moher Lodge and asked them to hold on to it and agreed that we would get in touch with them after our trip (about a week later) to sort this out. Once we got back home we contacted them through e-mail and they agreed to send the coat to us by mail. We promised to send them the S&h-fee but recieved the package even before they could have gotten the money. Top notch service!! We even wrote to our travel agency to tell them about our wonderful time at Moher Lodge. Would recommend them to anyone!

  • Liked — Very friendly staff, homely, cosy atmosphere
  • Disliked — Located on busy road

“Perfect B&B!”

My husband stayed at the Moher Lodge for one night on our trip to Ireland this July. It was wonderful! The hosts were just lovely, even giving us a hug at the end of our stay! They are so welcoming and happy to help give suggestions or share stories. This is everything I imagined a B&B to be and was one of my favorites! One thing I must say, the cliffs are not really within walking distance as someone mentioned. We wanted to stay here for that reason, and to see the sunset over the cliffs, however we couldn't walk there unless we had about an hour or so to walk. But it really is a perfect place to stay, great hosts, welcoming and warm, CLEAN, and a wonderful breakfast!!

  • Liked — The warm welcome and cleanliness!!
  • Disliked — Nothing I can think of.

“The quinnesential Irish Experience”

The Moher Lodge is postcard perfect with its proximity to the Cliffs of Moher and its Irish Charm. Mary and Patsy made us feel very at home as I noticed they did with everyone. I felt priviledged they let us share part of our trip with them, because they were so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. As people who stayed mostly in hostels on our trip, this was definitely a step up for the same price. They also offered a wonderful breakfast and the best coffee we tasted in Ireland. The only thing about staying here is that you really can't walk across the street to a pub, but there were some nice places in Doolin which is about a five minute drive, and some quaint little pubs heading to Liscannor in the other direction.
