“Perfect B&B!”

My husband stayed at the Moher Lodge for one night on our trip to Ireland this July. It was wonderful! The hosts were just lovely, even giving us a hug at the end of our stay! They are so welcoming and happy to help give suggestions or share stories. This is everything I imagined a B&B to be and was one of my favorites! One thing I must say, the cliffs are not really within walking distance as someone mentioned. We wanted to stay here for that reason, and to see the sunset over the cliffs, however we couldn't walk there unless we had about an hour or so to walk. But it really is a perfect place to stay, great hosts, welcoming and warm, CLEAN, and a wonderful breakfast!!

  • Liked — The warm welcome and cleanliness!!
  • Disliked — Nothing I can think of.

“The quinnesential Irish Experience”

The Moher Lodge is postcard perfect with its proximity to the Cliffs of Moher and its Irish Charm. Mary and Patsy made us feel very at home as I noticed they did with everyone. I felt priviledged they let us share part of our trip with them, because they were so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. As people who stayed mostly in hostels on our trip, this was definitely a step up for the same price. They also offered a wonderful breakfast and the best coffee we tasted in Ireland. The only thing about staying here is that you really can't walk across the street to a pub, but there were some nice places in Doolin which is about a five minute drive, and some quaint little pubs heading to Liscannor in the other direction.

“Wonderful owners make you feel at home”

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast for a short day or more than one night. Mary, the owner, is wonderful and makes everyone feel at home. The farm lodge has beautiful views and is in walking distance (though on the scary road) to the Cliffs of Moher. We watched the sunset at the Cliffs and did not have to pay for parking after 6pm or so. That was a nice savings.

We had dinner in Doolin -- a small town of mostly pubs. Good place to pub crawl if you have a driver. Breakfast at the Moher Lodge was great. Mary went out of her way to make us crepes--pancakes!!

Moher Lodge is above the rest of B&Bs in Ireland since Mary and her husband went out of the way to make every guest feel part of the family. This is not the norm at most other B&Bs in Ireland. If you are headed to the Cliffs of Moher, stop at the Moher Lodge and enjoy a restful night before headed on the rest of your journey. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area!!

“Wow! They set the gold standard!”

This was the first place we stayed when we got to Ireland. Mary not only was gracious and helpful with our online reservations, but she and Paddy gave us help by phone to find the right bus to get there from Shannon Airport. The bus driver knew just where to drop us off at the mention of her name. The tea was wonderful, as well as the fire in the hearth, and our room was delightful. Mornings begin with the view of the lush fields across the road, and birdsong and braying of a distant donkey and cattle mooing here and there. A friendly dog and a Connemara Pony also live on the grounds, and the grounds are lushly flowered in a wild way. This lodge is in walking distance to Murphy's Pub in one direction and the Cliffs of Moher in the other. Breakfasts were a dream, even for those of us on limited diets! Mary and Paddy's kindness and hospitality set a high standard for the rest of our stay in Ireland. They even helped us find our way and lodging at our next stop, Inishere. We stayed with them 2 days.

“Best B&B Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2007

Last summer my fiancé and I traveled Ireland and stayed in a different B&B, in a different city every night and this was the only one that fit everything I thought a B&B should be. We arrived later then expect and Mary was still up waiting on us. She was very understanding, about the late arrival and she even offered to make us tea. I’m not for sure why, but she gave us a larger room with no additional charge. The room was clean and had an amazing view of the surrounding country side. The breakfast was amazing as well. They had a wide selection which included basics such as cereal, fruit, and yogurt, as well as, a menu that included omelets, pancakes, and a traditional Irish breakfast. I’m sure if you asked they would cook anything you wanted to make you happy because they are the nicest people ever. When I return to Ireland I intend on spending more than just one night at the Moher Lodge.
