“5mins from beach, easy to get to from airport, 5min bus ride to city.”

NO DISSAPOINTMETS WHAT SO EVER! I booked this trip with my partner and were a bit worried as the comments were mostly negative but i booked it cause it was near the beach and city. The hotel is rated a 3star when we arrived outside we thought.. this is deffinatly a 3star! but when we walked inside, that was a different story! the receptionist was very friendly, normally check in is at 1pm but because we arrived early he let us check in at 12pm. Our room had a balcony with the ocean view, it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! the food was lovely, there was things to choose from i.e. ham, turkey, cheese, toast, cereal, orange juice, and also some hot food like sausages etc. Close to the city, you could walk which takes 15mins or take the bus which takes 2mins. only 2euros for 2 people.
first of all from alicante airport, just ask for the bus to the city and it's 2euros there, from the city, walk to towards the beach until you see loads of bus stops and from the stop you'll see a map, the hotel is in Sol Naciente which where the hotel is. get on the bus and you'll see the sign Hotel Albahia. once you see it just press stop. You'll have to walk downhill to get to the hotel. Id rate this a 4star hotel because it was amazing. if you want more info just send me a message.

“to book at such short notice and have such a perfect hotel, what a relief”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2009

I booked this hotel less then a week prior to travel. I do not know the area at all, and as we neared Alicante, I was to say the least very nervous of what to expect from my bargain break, would it offer everything my daughter and I were hoping for as her post exam treat?
What a relief when we arrived, sunshine.co.uk had informed the staff that our plane arrival meant that we would be checking in late, so we were greeted by name on arrival, and encouraged to go out to the beach as soon as we had dropped off our bags, so that we could catch the fireworks! What a way to start the hoiliday, amongst the locals watching the night skky being lit up by a fantastic display.
The hotel and its location were everything we could have hoped for and more. What a brilliant time!

“Great hotel for first night in Spain from the States”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2009

This hotel is an older hotel but was clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late at night, so it was very dark but quickly realized that we were in a beautiful location. It is a short drive from the Alicante Airport so it was perfect after a long day of flying from the States. We enjoyed the restaurant on the premises and sat outside with a good dinner. Our room was clean, and we heard the ocean from our window at night and enjoyed the ocean view from our balcony in the morning. It was just wonderful. The included breakfast was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. It is the traditional continental Spanish fare with excellent coffee and juice. The view from the breakfast area was breathtaking, and we just had a terrific stay. Would definatly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

“Lovely holiday destination, hotel experience (service) poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2009

Great holiday destination, however, Hotel Albahia, would not recommend as the advert for this hotel states on beach, actually it is app. 2 mile to beach, at least where you can lay and tan.
Service from Bar and kitchen staff very poor. The food and presentation again very poor. Would definitely recommend alternative hotel for holiday in Alicante. Now that we have been, will definitely look to book closer to beach next time and hopefully have a better service experience.

“My detailed experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2009

When I arrived at this hotel the receptionist spoke a little English and was really helpful. Everytime I needed a taxi, shed call for one and well just helped out with little things.

THE HOTEL: had a bar downstairs which not many people used, it looked nice though. My room was nice, good for what I paid. It was clean, the bathroom was also very clean. I had a nice balcony with sea view, it was great to watch the sunrise and sunset there. The bars on the balcony were kind of rusty but who cares? I wasnt paying 5 star rate.
There isnt a swimming pool and no breakfast. They do have the internet but you have to pay for it and youre on a time limit and its a bit over-priced.
The Location: The hotel was in what seemed like a run down area. Its a pretty ugly looking hotel from the out side and when you walk out of it, it smells like fish. Theres lots of cats around this hotel but hey, they keep the mice away. Just a 2 minute walk and youre by the tennis courts. Everything very close to the hotel (within a ten min walk) such as restaruants didnt have a great atmosphere and there was just nothing to do nearby.

ROOM SERVICE: If youre hungry, dont buy anything from the hotel room service, the food is rubbish..serious waste of money. Theres a little super market close to the hotel, id go there and buy some salad/crisps/chocolates instead.

THE BEACH: it is small and its about a 20 minute walk away and its worth walking there because youre walking alongside the coast and mountains. The beach is near many restaurants including mcdonalds and burger king.

This hotel is good to stay in if you want to take a decent break in a quiet area. If you want to do any activities or visit other places such as Benidorm Zoo then you can walk to the trams or take a taxi to the close parks and castles.
Over all things could have been better but it was worth the money I paid. I dont think its a horrible place but I dont think its fantastic either. It will do for those of us who dont spend most of the holiday in the hotel.
