 Wedding Night Hotel

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel or Inn around the Eustis or Mount Dora areas? I am getting married in Eustis in October 2006 and am struggling to find a nice quaint hotel - the lakeside Inn looked perfect until I read the reviews. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

I would not recommend the Lakeside Inn. Country Cottage Suites is the place to stay. It is on the same street as the Lakeside Inn (walkind distance). We stay at the Suites every time we visit Mt. Dora (from Ft. Wayne, IN), which is once or twice a year. The Suites are LOVELY and the owners are even more LOVELY. I may be a little biased because the owners are also my parents!! The Suites are right next door The Gables Restaurant, great food and the owner (Edger) is wonderful. And right around the corner is the best bakery for breakfast. Try the breakfast quiche. Check out the suites at:

www.countrycottagesuites.com. If you stay there, tell them their favorite daughter (Prissy Britches) sent you and it is your wedding night and I am sure they will do it up nice for you. Best Wishes.

PS (also ask to stay in the Suite with the Balcony)

We really enjoyed Country Cottage Suites. Center of town and really comfortable bed! If you can, get the side with the balcony.

Just had a great stay at the ADORA INN in mount Dora on 06-29-06. It would be a great place to spend your wedding night ,get married , have a post or pre event . it has five rooms so it can only provde rooms for 10 guests , special ones . But i know the innkeepers would make the events there memorable. Their website is www.adorainn.com , phone 352-735-3110.

What date in October is your wedding? Because October 27 through the 28th is a huge Craft Fair. Hotel space is almost non-existent if you wait too long to book a room. I am an artist in this Fair and have been going every year for the last 18 years and have stayed at every hotel there. Mount Dora is first of all absolutely adorable, quaint and romantic. The little city , shops, restaurants are lovely. The Lakeside Inn which is situated in the City is old, but so romantic. I recomment a room on the water not in the main Inn. More pricey but worth it. Yes it is old and can be musty smelling, but what old inn isn't? It is so romantic and the view of the lake is great, and you get a free breakfast which is nice. It is quiet. The Restaurant is romantic and good that is on the grounds. Make sure you ask for the room that faces the lake. The grounds are very pretty and the lake is beautiful and romantic to watch the sun set. It is away from the main road and you can walk the City without having to get into your car. The Comfort Inn, is one of the worst run Hotels. If you stay there, get a room on the lake in the new building that is by itself. Make sure you talk to the owner, Raj directly, no one else. That is the only way you will be sure of your reservation. These rooms do not have a hot tub, but they have a nice view of a little lake, but it is on main highway. The Hampton is the best. It is just a regular Hotel, Hampton style, on the main Highway. But it is clean and consistent. If you are really seeking romance and can afford it, the Lakeside Inn is the best choice. Unfortunately, that is all that Mt. Dora offers. There are some misc. hotels on 441, but I have not stayed in them, and they are older. Once again, if your wedding in on the 28th, book immediately anywhere! Good luck!
