who's got 45 minutes to waste at a crowded boarding gate?.All the other passengers on the plane, they may have longer to wait depending on how many other passengers are like you,read your boarding pass travel information like departure times /check in times are ptrinted on these for your conveniance, believe or not airlines are a buisness and need to keep to a schedule and being at the boarding gate 45 minutes prior to departure is part of the procedure, if it is good enough for the other passengers, can not see a problem

I wont say that Jetstar is perfect ... as I know there have been some problems on the Adelaide route which they really need to address

However, I have flown consistently with them since they commenced operations (as they are the only direct flight from Sydney to HI, I obviously have to) both domestically and over seas and can truly say in that time have only had problems with 1 flight attendant who on that day had no sense of humour as regards exit row seats

They have made a tremendous difference in cost wise for those of us travelling (used to pay up to $700.00 RETURN from Syd - to HI with Qantas) and now can get some fantastic deals..

I love the fact that I can get a flight for a few days hence still with the cheap rates .. Qantas used to have their silly 21 day, 14 day, 7 day advance and heaven forbid if you wanted to get away for the next weekend

One time I was quoted $900.00 to fly return to HI because it was Wednesday and I wanted to go Friday ..

This isn't Qantas bashing as I am a FF but I do believe Jetstar has made travel so much cheaper and convenient ...

And as for weight .. well I think they have one of the cheapest excess baggage rates .. and I dont worry any more as I know it isnt a hastle .. if I am overweight, I just pay I think it is about $7.00 a kilo

You can even do this before you arrive at the airport

Maybe in all the flights I have taken with them I have been lucky with the staff .. all dozens and dozens of them

Yep - the answer is read your ticket and your boarding pass. My sister and her family of 4 got left behind when they were flying Ade to Hobart for a wedding. They are always late- but have learnt their lesson.

I dont know what is the big problem with being in the gate lounge - especaily where the airport is new, the view from the lounges is lovely and evrything is very clean and bright. I am a Q Club member but there are often times whene I choose just to go to the gate because i cant be bothered with the Q Club. You had time to sit in Q Club - why not the gate lounge? Even in the Q Club I keep checking the boards for flights boarding because they dont always call Q flights either.

Maybe it's just the flights I've taken with JS but I have definitely felt attitude from their flight attendants. It's like they're doing you a favour. They just don't seem as friendly as the Virgin staff for example.

I've never had any trouble about excess weight, I'm always on time and sitting in the allocated areas etc.. so no obvious complaints - it's just the feeling I had, I guess it comes down to the vibe of the thing....

Despite my earlier post I have had problems wiht Jetstar (cancelled flight - not check in issues) and now refuse to fly with them on the Syd to Ade or Mel to Ade routes.

A friend just sent me this. Maybe it will get better. It DOES pay to complain. .

Its the only way to change something whether it's an airline or your local restaurant.

How does a company know its performance if people don't express their opinions ..good or bad....

After a series of complaints from customers one would presume that the company would rectify the problems...etc..etc.

Never had a problem with Jetstar myself and would prefer to fly with them over the others. The jets are newer, and I love the fact that when it says you are flying at 8pm you are actually taking of on time, due to them not letting late comers hold up your depature time.

I agree with other posters what the problem with being at an airport 45mins b4 take off...........never had any staff be rude and was actually impressed with my flight over to Surfers Paradise as they were friendly and helpful unlike Qantas who I have to fly for work most of the time.

The other thing, really is what do you expect for your $99 fare or whatever it costs at the time........silver service.
