 Accommodation in Clifden

Hello Trip Advisors

Can anyone recommend accommodation in Clifden, in the town centre so that we can walk to bars, restaurants etc. There are 3 of us and we would like a room with 3 beds - does such a thing exist? We want to stay 15 and 16 August, so I know we have left it rather late to book, but all suggestions gratefully received.

Many Thanks

Have a look at some of the hotels and B+B's listed here:

We don't know for sure of any three bedded rooms anywhere but the Station House has family rooms and self-catering apartments that may suit?

The Arch is right in town and has 3 & 4 bedded rooms as does Kingstone House. I believe these are Double + 1or 2 Singles.

Have stayed at Buttermilk Lodge in the past and found it very convenient to downtown. It is a 5 minute walk - downhill to town and uphill back to lodge. It is a very professionally run B & B and the breakfasts are fantastic. Rooms are large but I am not sure if they have one with 3 beds. The two rooms I stayed in would easily accomodate 3 but 2 people would have to share a queen size bed. Plenty of parking and a quiet setting. Enjoy your stay in Clifden the pubs are great! I have enjoyed E.J. Kings and J Coneely's but I know there are many more to explore.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. Here`s the thing - why is it always me that has to do the booking and then take the flak if the place isnt up to scratch? (not that this has happened often, but argh - the responsibility.....)

Have booked for two nights at the Arch Guesthouse, on the basis that they can offer 3 beds, the price is right, and the location is good. Many thanks for the links.

Anyone stayed there recently who can advise on what its like? To be honest we only need clean comfy beds and decent breakfast - we will be out and about enjoying the scenery but it would be good to be able to reassure my friends. Many thanks again.

Oh, and another thing, have just realised this place doesnt have any parking - anyone know what it will cost to park overnight in the nearest public carpark?

Thanks again

Havn't stayed over this year yet, hoping to get to the Comhaltas this month and will be staying at the Arch, only been open a couple of years but can't be beaten on price and location. on street parking right outside not sure on cost but free from 6-8 I think will get back to you on that

We stayed at the Dun Ri Guesthouse in Clifden last week. Our room had a double bed and a single bed. Not sure if they have rooms with 3 beds, but the location is great. Just off the main street, but quiet and has off street parking.

Some bars like Kings have sessions every night in season my local is I suppose Lowery's (part of the Irish Whiskey trail) doesn't always have music but will give you a mighty welcome. I almost forgot Roundstone Sumerfest ends the 15th so call by on your way in.
