Lugano Forum: Has anyone used the Lugano airport-fly out internationally?

I have used this many times and it is a fantastic service!

The Plane is based in Lugano , so the risk of getting delayed thru late inbound is eliminated. The last morning was even after heavy snow and freezing, de iced and still arrived in Zurich on time.

I always use it with an onbound flight ,all ticketed with either Swiss or Lufthansa, bags straight thru to final destination.

Plus 30 mins check in before departure is a dream, not possible in most places anymore.

As sean has written , it's a good airport to start your flight back home . Just notice that the Airpot is NOT exactly in Lugano but in Agno !

To be exact : at least 5 km from city centre of Lugano also close to the lake, to the Chocolate Museum and the Hermann Hesse Museum .

Right next to the Airport in Agno there is a good Hotel ( La Perla ) and also a big shopping-center and Restaurants nearby , If you wish to spent your last night there to avoid very early wake up , try :

But of course. Where else would you build an airport? Level the city center for the runway?

5 km from Lugano center is still closer than London City Airport from the actual city!

Is my information about Agno a problem to you altamiro ?

I just wanted to be friendly and give the correct info as i know by own experience that , sometimes in the morning , you need more than 1 hour to cover these 5 or 6 km ( depending on which Hotel in Lugano ) by taxi or car , because of the terrible traffic situation .
