Lodging for 2 nights in/near Lugano in April
Destination Expert   What's this?
for Alaska

I am looking for lodging for three people for two nights the end of April in/near Lugano. B&B would be first choice or even some sort of Ferienwohnung/apartment but I doubt those are rented for only two nights. If a B&B, we need two separate rooms since it is a married couple and a single adult traveler.

We will be using public transit so wherever we stay needs to be close to public transit (bus, etc). I have read on other threads that perhaps Ascona is really nice. That would suit us OK vs. Lugano (or another town) assuming that it has easily accessible transportation. I am not sure if boats are operating a full schedule that time of year.

I would love to find a place for +-100 francs/room/night but I am finding that challenging.

Thanks for any assistance.

Take a look at: www.bnb.ch.

The Lake Lugano summer timetable starts on 28.3.2020.

Have a look at the Montarina (site below.)

We stayed there last year as it was in our budget and is just behind Lugano's railway station - about 15 minutes walk as it's a bit uphill.

Not B&B, just rooms, but they have a small kitchen and communal dining room. You could always eat at one of the many restaurants (or the hotel next door).

Thanks for your help. I actually had contacted Montarina before posting but haven't heard anything from them yet. Appreciate your input on that place.

I have taken a look at the bnb link and will go through it more thoroughly. I might just print out the info since going through it online is a bit confusing.
