How do you get to Mantova from Verona airport? Do you have to go into Villafranca di Verona first and what is the cost? Would it be better to get the airport bus to Verona and then the train to Mantova?

The car drive would be direct and easy. I don't know about parking in Mantova.

There is a train station on the Mantova line, just east of the airport at Viale Europa/Via Stazione. Look at Via Michelin and zoom in on the airport area - you will see how close the stazione is. One would assume, although I have no direct knowledge of this, that it would be easy to get from the airport to the station.

The train station in Mantova is centrally located and convenient to staying in the historic district.

The Aerobus runs all day every 20mins from Verona Airport to Verona Train station

aeroportoverona.it/en/…aerobus.asp

From the Verona Train station there are a number direct regional trains to Mantova - takes about 50mins and costs €2.55 single - and the odd Eurostar (30mins €6.50)
