LOL funny post
the locals are distand from their neighbours in Galway and Clare to - I think it comes from living on an island - the locals become very cliquish. Its very obvious.
Posting about Inishmore in the Waterford forum? Talk about distance! :)
I've found the locals friendly enough. Probably like anywhere else that thrives on tourism, including my own area. Meaning you're glad to see the tourists come to town to provide jobs, and also glad to see them leave. :)
I have noticed this too, and also when visiting some Scottish Islands like Mull and Skye (excellent places to visit however). At one time I went into a shop in Skye, and the owner kept sweeping the floor and ingnored me so I left...its something to do with insular living I guess.
