Visiting Ireland in October, need some idea of costs

Hello everyone!

My husband and I are going to Ireland in October - staying from 10/3-10/11. We are staying in Claregalway, already have hotel and car rental taken care of. My question is I'm trying to figure out what we are looking at expense-wise for food and petrol. We plan on at least driving from our hotel to the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and the Kylemore Abbey. Can anyone give me some kind of ball park idea at what I'm looking at for costs? Won't be going to any fancy restaurants, want to stay pretty close to our hotel. Thanks!!

It all depends on how much driving you are doing, but allow about 100 euro for petrol and about 20 per head for a two course pub lunch

Rough costs; 1000 miles will cost about €120 in fuel for a small mid car. Get a good breakfast at the hotel, light lunch and a pub meal in the evening €30 if you eat where the locals eat or get a take away to eat in your car or room.

You should consider approx. € 30.00 for food

per day per person not including breakfast.

If you wish to drink in a pub a pint of lager or a

glass of wine is approx € 4.30 to € 4.80.

If you smoke, a carton of 20 cigarettes is approx.

€ 8.70 to € 9.30.
