Chester Forum: Chester zoo - hotels nearby with pool suitable for a 2 year

Depends what you mean by nearby. The Ramada is about 5 miles away round the ring road.

I'm happy to travel 5 or 6 miles to hotel from zoo.

The Ramada will give you what you are looking for, it's a "2 Minute" car journey from the zoo, ideally placed.

\unfortunately there is no availability for the Ramada for all of August. Any other suggestions?

You may be better to look a little further out. For example Holiday Inn Runcorn , is actually just off the M56 so is well placed for getting onto motorways for NE the next day and has availability for most if not all AugustAbout 15-20 min journey time A41 dual carriageway,M53,M56 from zoo. They have pool, children´s pool jacuzzi etc

There's a holiday Inn just outside Chester on the Wrexham Road which has a very nice pool.

Also I think the newly refurbished Hilton Doubletree that we used to know as Hoole Hall has a pool and is probably the handiest for the zoo, though may be a bit pricier.

Looking at the hotel list on the left side, Rowton Hall and Mollington Banastre both have pools, and are I would think a lot closer than Runcorn!

I visited Doubletree by Hilton (Hoole Hall) today to take a photo of the rhino there (Rhino Mania trail). The hotel looks beautiful since it's been renovated. I think there are pools at Llyndir Hall and Rossett Hall. Both of these are country hotels between Wrexham and Chester (approx 20 mins to zoo).

Thanks to everyone. Unfortunately both the Hilton and the Ramada had no rooms. I have now booked the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa, 12 miles fron the zoo. I will review it when I get home next week.
