"I visited No 31 on the weekend for the first time, for a relaxed evening with 7 girlfriends.
We all had a wonderful meal, each of them really enjoying the food that was placed in front of them. The presentation of the meals was excellent, and the taste did not dissapoint. The food was all that I ..."expected it to be, a real pleasure to eat.
Service was fast and friendly, nice and relaxed as it should be in Hanmer Springs (the place to go for relaxing).
Our whole group has already begun recommending No 31 to people we know, well done, keep up the fantastic work. We will definately be back, I can't wait.

"Our previous experience of Hanmer Springs was limited to a name on a map, so to our surprise we found a vibrant tourist town and CHANTELLINIS on Jollies Pass Road, just up from our apartment we had booked.
When in a new town we either look for a crowded restaurant or ask a local, and this time a..." local recommended Chantellinis.
We were delighted to be welcomed with a genuine 'hello' at the door as the hostess showed us our seat. The night was cold and clear and the interior was warm and inviting with subdued lighting and genuine candles on the table (no faux battery operated ones).
The menu selection was short but covered the individual tastes of meat, fish and poultry. We chose the slow cooked Canterbury Lamb with a glass of Greystone Pinot Gris.
The food was presented in a first class manner; the meat beautifully cooked and the accompanied side of fresh green beans and duck fat cooked potatoes done to perfection.
We would recommend Chantellinis for a beautiful dining e...

"Hanmer Springs continues to surprise and so it was with Isobel's Restaurant in the Heritage Hanmer Springs Hotel.
We arrived at just after 6.30pm and the restaurant was warm and inviting. We were shown our table and the delightful waitress (from Argentina) explained the menu and the specials of t..."he day.
So we started with a Langford Pinot Gris for her ($9 for a generous glass) and a Heineken for him ($9)
It was Groper pan fried and a Medallion of Pork for us as our choice and after the due period of cooking they arrived at our table beautifully presented. The meal sizes were just right; not too large as to be uncomfortable and not undersized to still be hungry at the end.
The pork came with kumara and the groper with stuffed prawns and both were delicious.
An interesting addition was the Winter menu which was a different selection of meals at lower prices to suit those guests with a different budget.

Pork Medallion $35
