"A relative was anxious to try this tea room out. Since I'm not averse to tea rooms, it seemed like a good idea, after a trek to Hall's Harbour. It was.
Yes, we indulged a bit in late afternoon, with a narrow gap between then and dinner, but it was all worth it!
The carrot and ginger soup was del..."icious, as was the quiche, sandwiches and dessert. Tea, served nice and hot, was just right.
Our waitress, and the owner, were very kind, interested in us, as we were in they, so conversation flowed back and forth. It helped make the afternoon on a sunny spring day even more memorable.
I've no doubt, on my next trip to Nova Scotia, I'll be stopping in again. I highly recommend people stop in here and relax a while on their travels, visitors and locals alike.

"Yesterday I made my first visit to Goodchild's of this season. The food was as excellent as ever, but what struck me even more was that the service was superb even though they were incredibly busy. I would not hesitate to recommend it."
"If you would like to step back in time when there was "real appreciation of customer," then go to Goodchild's Tea Room. The wall is filled with every type of tea possible and only the best brands. The impeccably clean display counters were filled with delicious looking (and tasting) English treas..."ures. Lemon cake was my favorite with a lovely lemon cream icing. Fairy cakes (cupcakes in Canada) for high tea on a two-tiered fancy plate with cucumber sandwiches, English curry chicken sandwiches and blueberry loaf, scones, etc. was also available.
The service was lovely and I can't wait to visit the tea room/restaurant soon.
