"We were in Crescent City for about a week, and ate here twice.
First time --
We sat upstairs which has a local, "pubby" atmosphere and nice harbour view.
I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu which was different from the usual presentation as it wasn't breaded and was topped with mushrooms, tomatoe..."s and onions. It was good, but I would not call it outstanding.
My husband had the New York steak, about which he stated:
"It was the best $15 NY he'd ever had" . . . however . . . sadly the price was $24. It was thin with not much flavor.
Both our veggies were fine, a bit plain, however my rice was cool, not hot.
Second time --
We sat downstairs which has more of a casual restaurant atmosphere. One section is over by a large deli case, which we felt kind of odd for a sit-down restaurant.
This time we got smart! We had noticed on our previous visit that the burgers other folks were eating looked large and tasty, so that's what I opted for this time. I had the half pound NY...

"We fell in love with their homemade pies. We bought one for $10. to take with us. Can't wait to go back there again.
Also the fish and chips was great, not too heavy on the breading and definitely not greasy. The colesslaw was light and crispy."
