I heard this place had very nice desserts and while I couldn..."'t stay for dinner, I picked up a slice of blueberry cheesecake (homemade "Cheesecakes by Carol") to go. The place was very busy but one of the staff bought my order quickly and wrapped it up very nicely for the drive up to Cleary Summit. Haven't made it back to this restaurant but definitely enjoyed the dessert and the friendly service, and would be glad to stop in again. " More >

  "We travelled to Fairbanks to visit a friends family, and on the way to the airport before flying home we had to stop and get lunch. We passed this non-descript building that was advertising itself as a restaurant. We U-turned, went back, parked and walked in a little wary. It doesn't look like ..."much, the booths and tables are close together and one side of the building is for smoking partrons and the other half for those of us who don't smoke. Boy, were we in for a surprise. The menu was "huge". Not only was breakfast available all day, but the offerings were almost uncountable. The portions were large enough for my wife and I to split the meal and it was delicious. And almost as important, the prices were very reasonable, for Fairbanks. The wait staff was friendly and answered the questions of these two first-timers without seeming to mind. If you're in Fairbanks and looking for a good "down home" meal, this is the place to go.
