"We stayed here for one night recently and had dinner in the restaurant. It was very enjoyable from nice big rooms with everything you need to a quite bar for a drink and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast the following morning was also very good so overall we enjoyed the food. There a..."re lots of little rooms around the big open reception area to read or relax. Remember this is an old house so the floor boards are going to be a little creaky but it does have the old world charm and the staff are very friendly and chatty in an old fashioned way so not trained to be over nice. It does need a lot of upkeep and feel it is let down slightly here esp a few of the room and the gardens. Overall I would stay here again so would recommend a night here as it also has a great location for traveling around lovely Wicklow.

"Stayed one night BB plus dinner with my other half and enjoyed it. The good points were that the grounds were nice for a short walk. Afternoon tea in the bar was very good and the young barman's tip that there was plenty for two to share was true. The breakfast was excellent. We got a nice bottle of wine for €34 and they appeared to charge €24 for a screw top bottle of wine. We dined in the small dining room (not the main one where breakfast is served) and my husband nearly passed out with the heat, other people also complained. When we returned to the bar after our meal someone had spilled sugar and this was still there two hours later. A different barman was on and he served me per...

"Had a meal here on St. Valentine's night. Although the restaurant was very busy the staff were attentive and pleasant throughout the evening. We dined from their Prestige seven course menu, but did not take up the accompanying wine offer.
My wife has a shellfish allergy but the restaurant happil..."y provided alternatives to any course containing shellfish.
The initial Amuse Bouche and starters were light and deliciously tasty and served at just the right speed, not rushed and yet not slow. We were a little disappointed with the main course of Pork Belly and accompanying vegetables. The pork portion was small and consisted mainly of fat so edible meat was miniscule and the vegetables were certainly not freshly cooked. We brought this to the attention of our server but while she did say she would tell the Chef we heard nothing further about it. Our deserts were good and coffee was fine.
The ambience in the hotel is very appealing and everyone we met was very pleasant. Pity about ...
