"My husband and I spent this last week in Bend while he was there for work. While we there we wanted to check out local pubs and beers. I am so glad we decided to try out 10 Barrel! The wait was about 30 minutes, but it was worth every minute. After talking with locals, it sounds like this place ..."has a 30-45 minute wait every night of the week, but most agree it's worth the wait. This was a famly friendly atmosphere and several people dining had children, even a dog on the patio. Feel free to walk back to the bar while you're waiting, order a drink and enjoy it out on the patio by the fire or just hang out front and wait for your table. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about their beers and menu items. I ordered the beer sampler, which had 10 3oz glasses and an excellent opportunity to try all their brews. My husband and I ended up loving the sour Swill so much we purchased a growler full to take with us. Neither one of us are "sour" beer drinkers either so this...

"My husband and I spent a week in Bend while he was there for work. We stopped in to the Aloha Cafe on a whim as it was close to the location he was working. The atmosphere is very laid back and everyone in there was very friendly...very Hawaiian. The portions are huge, the food is great and very ..."affordable. I had the Lava Chicken which was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I paired my chicken with brown rice and noodles. As good as it all was, I just had too much to eat it all! My husband, who couldn't decide on one entre to try, selected the Big Kahuna. This gave him a little bit of everything! I sampled a few of the sides off his plate and it was all delicious. We'll add this to our list of repeats for a quick, easy eats.

"My husband and I popped in to the Deschutes Brewery while checking out some other pubs/gathering places downtown. My husband was working in the area so we were in town for the week. Neither one of us are big on tourist attractions, for the most part. We prefer more local style hangouts and nothin..."g too commercialized. We've had Deschutes beer on several occasions and find most of it to be fair to midland. The service was good, but the majority of the people in the bar were tourists...That's who this place appears to appeal to. We stayed for about 45 minutes, mostly so my husband could watch the end of a basketabll game that was on. We did find a new beer that we both ended up loving, but since we don't live local and it's not available at other retail locations it will probably be a one hit wonder for us. With all the other pubs in the area Deschutes probably won't become a regular hit for us on return trips, but it was good to try a new beer and now we can say we've been there.
