  "My husband and I have been at the Black Cow several times in the past. A little more then a year ago we stopped going. The food went down hill, and the drinks were over priced for what you got. The service has always been very good there, and if you don't mind waiting a half hour, the outside deck ..."is over looking the ocean. Very nice. Because we had not been there for a long time, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We both had pasta. My husband's pasta had haddock, spinach and plum tomatoes, with a white wine sauce. It was all cooked just the way we like it. Fish was very FRESH and pasta not over cooked. The problem was that the so called plum tomatoes were diced very tiny. Like as if you were chopping parsley. It needed some tomatoes. I don't know if they cooked the pasta with oil in the water?? When you do that your sauce, white wine or any other type will not stick to the pasta. Best if you leave out the oil and make sure you stir while cooking your pasta. I g... " More >

Sitting right near Gillis Bridge in Newburyport and right on the Merrimack River, the atmosphere is perfect - indoors or oudoors.
