"I have made it a point to stop here every time I visit my childhood home of Brunswick and still think Tess's has the best Italian sandwiches in Maine. I'm sure it is just in my head because there isn't much to an Italian, but if you are driving through Brunswick along Rt.1 around lunch time, I can't..." think of a better place to stop for a couple Italians. If you've never had one (and unless you are from Maine or vacation here, you will be surprised what the Maine version of this venerable sandwich looks like!). They also have an amazing selection of very reasonably priced, extremely good wines. My father introduced me to this place in the 1970's and I've loved it ever since.

"This place, right off the main runway of the (now closed) Brunswick Naval Air Station, is one of the very few non-chain, car-hop restaurants left in the country. Spent waay too much time here as a high school student, but they had and still have, the best onion rings and shakes around. Service is al..."ways quick, food very good, and prices extremely reasonable. This is another do-not-miss Brunswick restaurant!

Unfortunately the Greek salad was unacceptable and we had to ask our waitress to return it to the kitchen. The salad was very wilted and drenched in dressing and the feta cheese was mixed in with the salad. As a result, the salad didn't look good or fresh at all. The waitress graciously asked my daughter if she wanted a caesar salad instead. ...
