  "To be honest, Susanville will always be just a convenient lunch stop on the way to Reno for most of us. But now we have a "go-to" in Susanville other than the fast-food chains. Nine friends stopped here for lunch recently (based on previous reviews) and left with a great appreciation of the Lassen..." Ale Works. The front of the building is a historic saloon with dark woods and a massive bar. I would have preferred to sit here, but our group was too large so we were seated in the back half of the building. The back room is massive with well-done murals of local history and the brewery on one side behind glass walls. Our group ordered a variety of items for lunch and I didn't hear any complaints! My wife and I shared a cheeseburger (yes, they are big enough to share) and quickly proclaimed it as the best burger of the trip. I ordered the beer sampler with lunch, six 5-ounce glasses for $6.
