"The owner/chef sources vegetables locally from organic farmers and tries to really create seasonal cuisine prepared with local ingredients. I personally prefer the fresh fish but you will find the usual meats along with occasional wild boar or deer when local hunters fine one. Vegetarian courses c..."an also be prepared on request but it isn't on the menu. I'd say this is Italian-Japanese fusion cuisine in that there is often elements of Japanese cooking even in dishes like pasta. Your meal usually starts with some homemade whole-grain bread rolls + olive oil. Lunch is a great deal and you can enjoy ocean breezes when the weather permits and the front of the restaurant is open. I wish there were more outdoor seating. The owner speaks some English and can explain the menu written in Japanese/Italian on request. It is a small restaurant and often can get very crowded on weekends so reservations are recommended.

"Ate here with my Japanese in-laws and it was great. I have had ramen from Saporro to Kyoto and places inbetwwen but this was the best. The stock was a lovely deep brown color, and the flavor out of this world. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I had the Seafood ramen, and my wife had the Pork Ramen...". We also had 2 orders of Gyoza that all of us agreed was excellent. If the food can impress my Japanese family as well as me the token American at this restaurant you know it's gotta be great. Oh, and at a cost of 900 Yen I think it was a good deal for such high quality ramen. It's an easy 10 minute walk downhill from the train station in Atami.
