  "We had supper here recently on a cool rainy Thurs. night. We were the only patrons there. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and service top notch. Views are also exceptional. Definitely the best dinner we had in Ireland during our weeks visit."

  "We found Monks on the way back to Galway from the cliffs of Mohr. It sits by the water and has a clean, neat appearance inside. It isn't quite the high season yet, but there were enough patrons for a Tuesday. I have read other reviews about a faded reputation, and that might be true in comparison to..." the past, but for a first visitor it was quite nice. The waiter was attentive and got everything right for our group of three. The seafood chowder was perfectly good as were my fish cakes, dressed nicely with a swirl of lox on top. Two of us shared an excellent apple crumble topped with vanilla ice cream. As it is only my first full day in Ireland, I might end up having better food along the way, but I can certainly recommend Monks. " More >
