"Attractive 18C pub in the tucked away village of South Wraxall, close to Bradford on Avon (3 miles) and East of Bath (6 miles). Selection of Wadworth beers and cask ales on tap and a better than average wine selection to accompany their regularly changing menu of fresh local and seasonal food. The S..."unday roast is recommended - which we enjoy regularly - booking recommended. Dogs are welcome in the enclosed garden (entered through the pub) and in the flagstoned bar area with a warming wood burning stove for the chillier months. The dining area beyond the bar is carpeted with an open fire in the winter months, with rustic furniture and local pictures adorning the walls. Relaxed atmosphere where locals and visitors mingle alike.
Lovely sun-trapped walled garden, but no specific play area for children. Nice country walks around the area, down narrow country lanes and through the small attractive 14-18C village.
The 15C South Wraxall manor is nearby, occupied by the Long family for 500 ...

"Being right by the Avon & Kennet towpath there is a constant stream of passers by even if you just fancy a cup of coffee. Nothing is too much trouble all sorts of meals served. Recommend Toodle Pip cider!"
"Great pizza and pasta dishes, fish, meat, seafood, salads and vegetarian options in a cosy pizzeria crammed most evenings.
Booking is essential with less than 10 tables. The staff are terrific and attentive, and the casual atmosphere is always buzzing with chatter.
Take-away menu is the same as t..."he dining menu with good portions, plenty of menu choices and happy to oblige your own concoctions (I like a soft egg in the middle of a pizza, and it is cooked to perfection!).
Beers, wines, apéritifs and digestifs, but nothing fancy. Very good italian diner suitable for families, friends, couples and solos.
No parking as the entrance is directly on the roadside, but it is a stones throw from Bradford on Avon town centre, opposite The Bunch of Grapes pub. Easy to miss if you haven't been before, but you'll go again (and again) if you have been there once!
The anglo-italian owner is a football fanatic, and memorabilia scatters the walls and bookshelves, along with travel books for Italy...
