"Siora Rosa is everything that we look for in a restaurant: a local institution (or at least supported by locals), not fussy, good service, excellent food, local specialties, and a casual atmosphere. We had our first meal in Trieste here and decided it would be perfect also for our last meal. We ate ..."in the "dining room", i.e. the table service area in the back. The front part, by the bar, is even more casual - but I'm sure every bit as good. The regional dishes were well represented, with many seasonal offerings. I don't think a stay in Trieste would really be complete without eating at Siora Rosa.

"Great atmosphere: felt like a cellar.
Great Service: Waitstaff were attentive & helpful in explaining and recommending dishes to us (table of 5). Kitchen & wait staff even stayed back to take our dessert orders & serve us although it was past their kitchen operating hours. Kitchen staff even wave..."d and smiled to us as they left for their afternoon break.
Great Food :We had entree, gnocchi(my favourite), pasta, two different soups and tried their housewine. The pasta sauces were flavoursome, pasta itself Al dente.
Great Value: When the bill came up (from memory, please check with restaurant)... Euro $7.50 for pasta, $4 for dessert (Crepe Suzette), $1.50 for house wine.

It is located in the pedestrian area in the old and it is a very cool place in my opinion. Usually the bars in Trieste have the "old" look meanwhile Life's inte..."riors are really new and shining which makes the place modern.
I usually take the prosecco or spritz and it is always very good. The staff is fast and doesn't like to waste time and so do I. Therefore, they might seem not kind but I am fine with that. I don't like waiters that never come or never go therefore, I am cool with them being sbrigativi (as the Italians say). There is a very vast choice of stuff to eat in the bar. As far as today I have never seen a bar in Trieste being fuller than in Life. If you have seen please let me know!!!
There is always chips, peanuts, bread, various types of cheese like parmiggiano, or gorgonzola or other, mortadella, baccala so you can eat as much as y...
