"Lovely decor, really beautiful and classy, very perfect for special occasions. Service was good and professional, the lady was very nice and friendly (in which "friendly" is not very common for Germans). [Menu (dinner set): 3 courses with "non-soup" appetizer is Euro$56.5; 3 courses with soup Euro$4..."7.5; 4 courses Euro$67.5] Food was very good! Amuse bouche was apple & celery mousse; appetizers: asparagus prawns salad (super good) and asparagus crepe (crepe was very good except bolognese sauce that was on the side didn't really match); main courses we had a whole fish (meat was very tender) and rack of lamb (meat was tender & juicy) - so they were both very very good; dessert: black forest cake (more like a rum chocolate cake, but very nice) and creme brulee (in a shallow/large soup dish, so there were a large surface of crispy caramelized surface with fruits & ice cream on top, super creative & nice but still keeping the traditional taste! "My husband and I first visited this restaurant a good few years ago and since then Laufenburg has meant to us nice memories of good Greek food. This restaurant used to be on the German side of the Swiss border post at Laufenburg which was a cute crossing over the river into Switzerland. We finally..." returned and found that the border post had been moved but the bridge over to Switzerland is still there and available for walkers or cyclists. This means that from the Swiss side one can park and walk over the river to enjoy German prices! We shared a starter, had a main course each and 5 drinks which came to €45 which is very good if you compare to Swiss prices. So, no passports needed if you are out on an afternoon ride in Switzerland!
The food was good, we were early and even though it was mid-week, the restaurant was full, many of them Swiss!

"A beautiful selection of cakes and meals are available at this restaurant at the old castle, which is a must-see in this area. If you have time, make sure to do the circle route from the castle - the scenery is simply amazing! The venison stew was delicious - I had the "small portion" - which turned..." out to be quite enough for lunch. The "sachertorte" was also very good. We did not travel with our kids, we spotted the kiddies menu with a very nice selection of meals for little ones. The staff was very friendly and helpful, although we waited a while for our bill.
