  ""L'Appart Coffee Shop" in the Rue Jean Suau, Toulouse was a lucky 'happenstance' find. It's a tiny, somewhat quirky place. It's accessed through a glass-panelled brickwork archway, but mind the step down! Upstairs is accessed via a metal, spiral staircase and that's also where you'll find the loo. D..."uck though, if you're more than about 5 feet 6 inches tall. We had lunch there, whilst roaming around the town, near La Garonne river. They did us a couple of superb club sandwiches - freshly prepared and well worth a bit of a wait.   "They do steak - just steak. We arrived just before opening time and people were queueing outside in the rain! No queues for any of the other restaurants along the Boulevard de Strasbourg though! The restaurant was nicely turned out, but the decor oddly included tartan panels (especially odd as they ..."stress that their meat comes from France, Austria, Germany - in fact anywhere but the UK!). The waitresses were very pleasant and very organised. We were shown to a table along with what seemed to be hundreds of others who had also arrived at opening time. In no time at all a lettuce and walnut starter arrived plus the drinks we'd asked for. The only other question was' how would you like your steak'! The steaks duly arrived, accompanied by a large amount of French fries. More steak arrived on a separate plate, put on a candle heater on your table. More fries were available if you could handle it.
