"Les Ganivelles has a unique and slightly eccentric sense of style but there is no doubt about the warmth of the welcome or of its true passion - the food. There is no set menu as such. Mme Valerie is an inspired chef who simply makes creative dishes from whatever is best and freshest on the day. ..."All of the ingredients are locally sourced - so local that the vegetables and herbs on your plate were probably only picked from the restaurant's gardens moments before you arrived. She and her husband have very little English but took great pains to make us feel welcome and to ensure that we enjoyed every aspect of our meal - so much so that we visited three times and hope to return next year. If you are anywhere near the village of Villebramar, I recommend that you head straight to the mairie, look to your left and find Les Ganivelles.

"Located at Pressignac-Vicq, this is a fabulously good restaurant, offering duck dishes in all its guises. Simple rural setting, but very comfortable and good service. We had the 22 euro menu - 5 courses and an aperitif and wine, and coffee all thrown in. Garlic soup, duck terrine, confit of duck wit..."h potatoes and salad. And the pear desert with meringue topping was gorgeous.
This is not haut cusine, but a simple very satisfying meal in the middle of the country.
And if you want to fly there, well they have their pwn grass landing strip - amazing. Highly recomended.

"In the middle of February 13/02/2013 a sunny day,we went to visit this family run hotel restaurant.
We had lunch in this lovely village, in the hart of the Basque Country.
We had a set menu at €12.00 and a children menu at €9.00. We had a soup "garbure" to begin with, then a lovely cold cod mayo..."nnaise salad which was very tasty, and as main course we had
a veal escalope served with some garlic chips. It was a generous portion very fresh and very
well cooked!
My children had as starter the same soup "garbure" then as main course a lovely pork fillet served withe garlic chips (generous portion too!)
As desert we had a choice of chocolate mousse, local cheese served with bread and cherry jam,
peach tart or ice cream. We took a selection of everything! It was lovely specially the local
cheese.
I had 2 coffees and a lager, and the bill was £ 43.00 ! What a bargain!
The service was very pleasant, helpful, the patron even offered some water to our dog.
We really want to recomm...
